I made a commitment to comply, as much as possible, with standards proposed and adopted by the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C).This means that I use primarily open-source software and tools to design, implement, and maintain this Web site.
I built this Web site using the Joomla! content management system. Joomla! is a free, award-winning content management system written in PHP which is allows users to easily publish their content on the world wide web and intranets. Joomla is an open-source project where individuals and teams contribute their skills to its development as well as its supporting systems. This software is developed and distributed by Open Source Matters under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License. Open Source Matters (OSM) is a not-for-profit organisation, incorporated in the United States, to serve the financial and legal interests of the Joomla project. Specifically, I have used Joomla version 1.5 for this site. This is a new, stable release that depends upon CSS for the presentation layer.
Additionally, I use software plug-ins, add-ons, and templates provided under the GNU General Public License or that I purchase or subscribe directly from third-party vendorrs. Some of these add-ons admitedly lessen the overall compliance with W3C standards for XHTML or Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) by the way developers integrate their software within the Joomla CMS.
I work hard to ensure that you may use this Web site regardless of the Web browser you have. However, not all browsers comply with W3C standards. In particular, versions 5, 6, and 7 of Microsoft® Internet Explorer® do not “like” some elements of our site, especially the Project Management and Web Portfolio components. Why?
According to the developer’s forum, IE 7 and (possibly) IE 6 should display the offending content if you open Internet Options in Internet Explorer® and identify this URL as a Trusted site.
The fact is, that there is no workaround for this Internet Explorer® error. And, yes, I’m stubborn: I won’t forego the advantages of using open-source software—software that works just fine with any other browser—just to make this site and its content work with Internet Explorer®.

You can use another, standards-compliant Web browser. I recommend Firefox, developed and distributed by the Mozilla Project.
