Pleasant Living has been published for 20 years as a slick, black-and-white magazine that provides local features about life and living in the River Country and Tidewater regions of Virginia. In late 2006, the publisher decided to offer additional content for subscribers online.

To do this, I redesigned the original Web site from that of a brief brochure to one that provides robust content and handles on- and offline subscriptions and payments effectively and efficiently with open-source software. The client and staff can add, remove, and archive content from the public front end as well as the admin back end.
