Our staff are members of a variety of standards-based professional associations, primarily the Society for Technical Communications and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE).
Don
White organized the company. He’s worked in technical communications
since 1987. (Click here for his résumé.)
Don is a native of Charlotte NC. However, because his parents decided to trade one grade of red clay for another, he was raised just outside of Atlanta, Georgia in the humble village of Decatur. As a result, his humility knows no bounds.
Following a brief stint at the University of Georgia, Don entered active duty in The World’s Finest Nuclear Navy and served in the Naval Security Group as a Cryptologic Technician (CTI). When he finished his career, he was a Chief Petty Officer qualified in submarines (USS WILLIAM H BATES). He served aboard six aircraft carriers, two landing ships, one guided missile destroyer, and six fast attack boats while assigned to commands in the eastern
United States and in Europe. He doesn’t tell (too) many sea stories.
Don was active for 13 years with the Boy Scouts of America. (He’s a Wood Badger.) Since 1990, he's been active in the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. Don is active in the STC James River Chapter and Consulting & Independent Contracting SIG. He is a member of the IEEE Professional Communication Society and the Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association. Don is a proud “alum” of the Demosthenian Literary Society at the University of Georgia.
